South by Southwest

Titus Andronicus: This is the only shot not from SXSW. My band, Lizard Police, played with them the monday before SXSW and I got this shot. I used a slow shutter speed with a flash to freeze them in place.
Titus Andronicus: I was walking to get some soda and heard a familiar song coming from behind this parking garage and I got curious because I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Needless to say I was real excited when I saw that it was my friends from Titus. I shot this one because I saw them both adjusting their pedals and I used the flag as a divider.
Jacob Abello: At the festival I met a lot of musicians who were from the Oklahoma City area. It was amazing to finally meet them since I generally only get to mingle with the Tulsa crowd. When I shot this picture I was standing in the kitchen talking to some folks and I looked out the window and Jacob was perfectly framed up inside the frame.
This band was from Norway and I feel bad because I can't remember their name for the life of me. But, Jeremy Charles can back me up...they ripped it up on the stage! This stage had some sick lights and I used them to my advantage in this photograph.
Jacob Abello: I wanted to give another view with this photograph. I enjoy putting things into the photograph that really shouldn't be there. The faucet for example! But, in my mind it gives the photo another dimension and really brings home the idea of a house show.

Marcus: I met Marcus while going with Kelly to get some candy. I let Kelly get his sugar fix and I stopped to hang with Marcus for a while. At school I used this photo for an assignment to portray contentment. Because after I talked to him I got the feeling that he's not living the nomadic life because he has to but, because thats what he loves to do. The songs he played for me were great.
Broncho: The main light in the picture is a couple of cars with their headlights on. I used my flash to freeze Ryan's motion but, it allowed me to get all of the lines from the lights.
Brine Webb: This house show was a Black Watch Studio showcase in Austin. So our fellow Oklahomans brought a flag and hung it on a fence. Everywhere I went I felt like I was running into people from Oklahoma. Our state makes some great music.
Brine Webb: I wanted to get a different view of the show. So i went behind all the amps and framed Brine up on the left side. I was really impressed with Brine's music.
Broncho: In this photo I really enjoyed the seriousness of Ryan and the lights from the cars brought out the texture in his strap and shirt.
Admiral Radley: This band has members of Grandaddy and Earlimart in it. So in this shot I was really focusing in on the old and the new. Earlimart and Ad Rad! What a great band!
Norway: Again the lights added an interesting element to the photograph.

Sorry for the randomness of the photographs...next time I'll do a better job of keeping them all in order! Thank you for taking the time to look at my pictures!
